Agents

Where a chatbot answers, an agent completes work. It carries a task through in steps, reading what arrives, checking it against your rules, updating your systems, and it stops for a person's sign-off at the moments that matter. We build two kinds most often: process agents that run a workflow from intake to done, and research agents that turn scattered sources into a finished document.

Looking for something that answers questions instead of acting on them? See Chatbots / Assistants.

Process agents

An agent that runs a routine workflow end to end. Something arrives, an invoice, a permit request, a ticket, and the agent reads it, checks it against your rules, prepares the update in your system of record, and hands a person a summary to approve. Your team approves the work instead of doing it.

How it works

  1. 1

    Watch the intake

The agent watches the mailbox or queue where work arrives, so nothing sits until someone notices it.

  2. 2

    Read what arrived

It pulls out the facts that matter, the supplier, the amount, the reference, straight from the document.

  3. 3

    Check against your rules

It matches the invoice to its purchase order and runs your own checks, limits, duplicates, missing fields.

  4. 4

    Prepare the update

It drafts the entry in your system of record, ready to post but not posted. Nothing changes without sign-off.

  5. 5

    Hand it to a person

A short summary lands with the right person. One click approves and posts; anything odd goes back with a reason.

Where this fits

  • Inspection reports

An inspector's notes and photos come in, and the agent drafts the report in the municipality's format, runs the regulation checklist, and queues it for the inspector to sign.

  • Invoice intake

Supplier invoices arrive by email. The agent reads each one, matches it to its purchase order, flags mismatches, and posts the clean ones for approval.

  • Ticket triage

Support requests get classified and prioritised. Routine ones get a drafted reply, and the rest land with the right team alongside a short brief.

Research and reporting agents

An agent that starts from a question and ends with a document. It gathers from several sources, from your own files to public portals, cross-checks what it finds, and writes the result up with every claim linked to where it came from. You review a draft, not a pile of links.

  4. Shortlist delivered as tender-shortlist-w34.pdf

How it works

  1. 1

Start from a schedule or a question

A weekly run or a one-off request, either way the agent knows exactly what it is looking for.

  2. 2

    Gather from several sources

It reads the portals, registers, and files that matter, not just the first page of a search.

  3. 3

    Cross-check the findings

Anything important gets confirmed in a second source, and what does not hold up is dropped.

  4. 4

    Write the document

It drafts the report in your format, with every entry linked back to where it was found.

  5. 5

    Deliver for review

The draft lands with a person who reads it, edits if needed, and sends. The agent never publishes on its own.

Where this fits

  • Tender scan

Every week the agent reads the public tender portals, keeps the ones that match your services, and delivers a shortlist with deadlines and requirements.

  • Client brief

Before a meeting, the agent pulls a company's site, registry filings, and recent news into a one-page brief, with every claim linked to its source.

  • Regulation watch

When a rule changes, the agent collects the official text, compares it with the previous version, and reports what changed and which of your processes it touches.
